A central location with several accommodation choices

Chaweng Regent Beach Resort makes a convincing case for travellers who want the beach and Chaweng’s streets in the same stay. Its official resort address is on Chaweng Beach, and a verified Expedia guest describes using it as a convenient central base while returning to the beach and pool. The accommodation is more varied than the broad resort label suggests. Low-rise Regency rooms, villas and larger suites have different relationships with the grounds and the sea.

That variety is useful for a mixed group. One couple may care about a pool-facing balcony; another may prefer a separate villa. The hotel does not need to be judged as though those were the same room at different prices. For adults sharing with a child, a convertible sofa is also a different arrangement from a separate bedroom. The published categories provide a starting point for that distinction without implying that a larger category automatically gives everybody private sleeping space. Location within the resort, rather than only category rank, helps explain why a returning guest could switch from a Deluxe Pool Room to a spa villa and prefer the new arrangement.

Regency rooms: floor and view are real distinctions

The official Deluxe Regency Pool View description places these rooms on the ground and second floors. It lists a size range of 38–40 square metres, a sofa that can serve as an extra bed and connecting options. Those are category features, not a guarantee that any pair of independently booked rooms will connect. The corresponding garden-view Regency category uses the same low-rise building concept with a different outlook.

A ground-floor position close to the pool can reduce the number of separate movements in a pool-focused day. An upper-floor position provides a different relationship with passing guests and outside activity. Neither description proves a step-free route from entrance to room or guarantees quiet. Anyone prioritising mobility should clarify the particular room route, because a two-floor category name alone says less than the actual allocation.

When the larger family category changes the decision

Chaweng Regent describes the Grand Premier Family room as combining a king bed with a full-size daybed that can become an additional queen-size bed. The advertised layout includes a balcony or terrace facing the pool or garden, with a separate shower and an air-pool bathtub. That is a materially different proposition from simply adding a temporary bed to a smaller room. A family should assess its own sleeping arrangement against that stated layout.

The accommodation page also distinguishes the Grand Royal Suite Beachfront, with a separate living room and an ocean-facing pavilion. It should not be used as the visual promise for a garden-view Regency room. The beachfront label belongs to that named category. Travellers comparing accommodation for a special occasion can therefore decide whether the beach-facing space is the purpose of the upgrade, or whether they would rather spend their time in the shared resort areas.

Guest accounts favour the position, with room-level context

A verified Expedia guest staying in March 2026 praised a room close to the pool, breakfast and beach, and said the spa villa suited them better than the Deluxe Pool Room previously chosen. The same account valued the staff and the ability to get around from a central base. This is useful evidence from a returning traveller, but it does not prove that every villa occupies the same convenient spot or that everyone will favour its layout.

For a beach holiday with dinners and shops in Chaweng, the resort’s central position is a practical strength. The decision is less obvious for someone seeking an isolated coastal setting or a guarantee of one uniform room style. Chaweng Regent rewards a specific choice: name the accommodation type, understand whether the outlook is garden, pool or beachfront, and weigh the floor against the way your group will use the resort. Its range is an advantage when those differences are understood.
