Lamai is part of the appeal
Pavilion Samui Villas & Resort has an immediate relationship with Lamai Beach rather than an isolated hillside setting reached only for a day trip. The official description identifies its Lamai beachfront position, while guest accounts on Booking.com value the combination of the shore and the nearby night-market area. That makes location an active part of the stay, particularly if you want to leave the resort for some meals.
It is a different choice from a property on a separate cove outside the main beach area. If you want to explore Lamai on foot, establish the actual entrance and the route you intend to use. If the priority is absolute separation from surrounding activity, look at the location as carefully as the villa photographs before deciding that a beachfront address automatically provides that kind of retreat.
A jacuzzi suite is not a pool villa
The official inventory ranges from a Deluxe Balcony Suite and Deluxe Jacuzzi Suite to Plunge Pool Suites, Hydro Pool Villas and larger pool residences. Those labels describe genuinely different layouts. Do not assume that a photograph of a beachfront pool villa represents a suite booked at a lower rate, or that every private water feature serves the same purpose.
Start with the feature you want to use. A balcony may be enough for someone who spends most of the day at the shared pool or beach. A plunge pool can create private time by the room, while a multi-bedroom residence answers a different need for families or friends. Ask about dimensions, privacy and access where they matter, rather than treating the word pool as a complete description of the outdoor arrangement.

The larger categories need a group plan
Pavilion advertises two- and three-bedroom residence options as well as smaller accommodation. That can be helpful for a group, but the right choice depends on beds, bathroom sharing and whether the living spaces let everyone use the accommodation comfortably. Clarify who sleeps where before comparing the total with several separate rooms.
A private pool also deserves a practical discussion when children are involved. Confirm access from bedrooms and living areas and the safeguards needed for your party; no attractive pool image can establish that the layout is safe without supervision. Meal inclusions should be checked in the same way. An offer for a particular number of adults does not automatically describe breakfast and bedding for the entire group.
What guests actually highlight
Booking.com guest material praises comfortable, generous rooms, breakfast and the convenient Lamai setting. Another visible account describes a successful stay in a two-bedroom pool villa with four people. These observations support the hotel’s appeal for travellers who want room choice alongside a walk-out coastal location, rather than proving that every category will provide identical privacy or condition.
Use the guest evidence to identify what you want to reproduce, then verify it in the booking. If it was the ease of reaching meals that sounded appealing, confirm the route. If it was time around a private pool, make that feature explicit in the category. This is more useful than adopting a broad positive verdict while overlooking the details that made another person’s stay work.
A balanced Lamai short break
The official facilities include shared swimming areas and dining, so a visit does not need to depend entirely on the private features of a room. You can keep part of the day for the resort and leave another part for Lamai. Treat any advertised beach-swimming message as promotional context rather than a guarantee of safe sea conditions on your dates.
Pavilion looks strongest for a couple or group who want that combination of local access and resort accommodation. It is less necessary to pay for a large residence if the plan is to spend almost all the time elsewhere. Choose the room’s water feature and sleeping layout deliberately, then allow the beach and town setting to do the rest of the work. That creates a clearer reason to book than the villa label alone.
