The beach is the advantage, and the context for the drawback
Samed Grandview Resort is a Sai Kaew Beach base rather than a quiet-island hotel chosen for distance from activity. The Booking.com listing identifies Thai-style accommodation at 95/2 Moo 4, and guests describe being close to the shore. That position can make a short Koh Samet stay easy to organise around beach time and nearby food. It is also the reason that evening sound needs to be considered as part of the accommodation choice, not dismissed as unrelated to the hotel.
A verified Expedia account describes staying in a traditional Thai house right by the beach and close to large speakers used for evening music. The traveller found that proximity intrusive. Another guest may actively enjoy spending the evening in the same lively beach setting. The useful conclusion is that the route from room to sand and the separation from entertainment can be linked: the position that looks most appealing in daylight may not be the position a light sleeper wants at night.
Thai House cottages are a distinct option
Thai House Cottage appears as a specific accommodation category on Booking.com and Expedia. Its character should not be used to describe every room at Grandview. The resort’s mixture of categories is important because guest impressions concern different accommodation products. A beach-facing cottage and a room in another building may both be sold under the same resort name while creating different experiences.
One Tripadvisor guest describing room 18 reported insufficient storage and noticed that other rooms appeared to have wardrobes. That is a limited but useful observation: it does not establish a property-wide lack of storage. Travellers planning more than a very brief stay may care about where luggage and clothes fit. The category’s layout is therefore worth comparing with the intended length of stay, rather than evaluating only the view or the broad word deluxe.

Read the room-level comments together
Guest material also includes a traveller who liked a Deluxe room in a newer building but found a Superior room less satisfying when moved for a night. The experience is not a current guarantee about every category or a reason to assume that all Superior accommodation is poor. It does reinforce the need to preserve the room type when interpreting a review. A favourable overall score cannot explain which accommodation led to a particular guest’s praise. A June 2026 Deluxe Classic guest on Trip.com liked the public-beach position and nearby services but found the room amenities limited. Another guest that month was dissatisfied with an additional bed in a Grand Executive room. Their experiences identify room equipment and the extra sleeping arrangement as separate issues from the attractive shore setting.
The evening-music account appears on more than one booking site through shared distribution. It should count as one traveller’s experience, not several independent complaints. Likewise, an individual report about room storage is evidence for that room and stay. Together they identify more useful questions than a generic list of facilities: the room’s position, its internal layout and its relationship with the beach’s evening activity.
A lively beach break, if that is what you want
Sai Kaew provides a setting where being able to walk between a room, the sand and eating places can matter more than spending an entire day inside a large resort. Grandview’s location is relevant to that kind of trip. Its Thai-style accommodation can be an attraction in its own right, but the shore should not be treated as a private retreat separated from the rest of the beach.
Samed Grandview is therefore a stronger candidate for travellers who value the central beach setting and accept its potential evening energy than for those whose first requirement is quiet. The choice becomes more reasonable when a specific room category and position are part of the comparison. Published guest accounts offer both reasons to consider it and reasons to be selective; they do not support one undifferentiated judgement about every room. The beach position is the clearest benefit, with entertainment exposure and variation between accommodation types as the qualifications that deserve attention. A sea-facing cottage resolves the view question without necessarily resolving the sleep question.
